•188158 Job Description Performs diversified clerical duties including but not limited to typing, taking dictation, scheduling appointments, maintaining files, etc. Job Responsibility

+ Performs diversified clerical duties which may include but are not limited to:

+ Typing various correspondence, reports, articles, etc.

+ Taking dictation.

+ Transcribing from a dictaphone.

+ Scheduling appointments, meetings, etc.

+ Maintaining files.

+ Takes minutes at meetings.

+ Receptionist duties.

+ Record keeping.

+ Patient filling, collecting payments.

+ Preparation of statistical data.

+ Keeps inventory of supplies.

+ Orders supplies.

+ Miscellaneous duties related to dept.

+ Performs related duties, as required.

•ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification

+ High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

+ Demonstrated secretarial know-how and ability obtained by either:


Minimum of one (1) year secretarial experienceORGraduation from an accredited secretarial science program of two (2) years duration or longer that includes an internship programORMinimum of eighteen (18) months in an LIJMC position using diversified clerical and interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, maintaining files, effective communications, answering phones and taking messages. + Proficiency in medical terminology gained either: Minimum of one (1) year experience in a capacity requiring such knowledge.



ORSuccessful completion of an approved LIJ internal program within two (2) years of application.



ORThrough acceptable formal education or training.

+ Ability to perform word processing functions required. Type 55 wpm.

+ Ability to operate a Dictaphone, where required.

+ Shorthand 80 wpm, as required by department.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of medical billing and insurance forms, as required by department.

+ Ability to communicate effectively.

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
