For more information, please visit our website at www.opendoormedical.org. Open Door is seeking an Evening Administrative Assistant to work in our White Plains Clinic location. The Evening Administrative Assistant responsibility is to provide secretarial and office management assistance to the clinic director and other office staff. Works under general supervision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides secretarial and office support for the clinic and its managers Conduct insurance verifications and enter information into the electronic health records Open and schedule all new clients in EHR system Collect all co-payments from clinicians and record in EHR system Maintains strictest confidentiality Schedule and manage the psychiatrist and nurse practitioner schedules Perform receptionist tasks answering incoming calls and route to appropriate department Contact clients on all upcoming scheduled appointments Manage clinic inventory of supplies and necessary paperwork Maintain a clean and safe office environment Perform all other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years of administrative experience, including one year in a health care or non- profit organization
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalency is required Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a culturally diverse population, and superior customer service skills Compassionate, articulate and patient Flexible, responsible, and highly organized with an attention to detail Strong problem solving, relationship building and advocacy skills Ability to work independently
WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent contact with patients, employees, and outside agencies Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a health center environment Requires adherence to Infection Control Standard Precautions
