Job Description

Job Summary Orange Friends Church (OFC) in Lewis Center, Ohio, is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented applicant for the position of Administrative Secretary. This individual manages the church office and serves as the central hub for our ministries, providing administrative support to the Lead Pastor and church leaders. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who can see a need and meet it.
Responsibilities Office Management:
Manage the church office, including maintaining the hard copy and electronic filing systems, keeping supplies stocked, and ensuring the work area is organized.
Communication:
Answer phones, greet visitors, and manage the church email inbox by responding to messages in a timely manner.
Publications:
Design and publish the weekly bulletin, update emails, and newsletters.
Scheduling:
Oversee the master calendar, including event scheduling and building usage rentals.
Record Keeping:
Maintain the church database, update policy documents, and keep Sunday attendance records.
Ministry support:
Coordinate mailings/promotions for events (e.g., Easter, Christmas) and oversee administrative volunteers. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Welcoming:
Must be a welcoming presence as the first point of contact for our church, demonstrating a real love and concern for all people.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel), and familiarity with social media apps.
Software Aptitude:
Ability to learn church management and design software to execute job functions.
Communication:
A strong command of grammar and punctuation for writing and proofreading church communications. Schedule Part-time, 20 hours per week Currently Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Open to negotiating specific days and times for the right candidate.
Pay:
$20.00 per hour
