Job Description
Teaches students who are detained in the facility; administers diagnostic examinations and proficiency indicators; determines skill levels of students; instructs students in assigned subject areas; tutors students experiencing difficulty with academic subjects; manages behavior in the classroom; provides guidance to students experiencing academic problems/issues. Develops and prepares individualized prescriptive teaching programs (including for GED testing) for students; develops lesson plans; observes, evaluates, and records information concerning student development and academic progress; maintains attendance records; maintains information concerning testing data, diagnostic results, and completed assignments; communicates with committing courts/placing agencies regarding students' progress and assignments. Prepares various educational reports as requested by the Superintendent, School Administrator, home school districts, and/or committing court/placing agency; facilitates staff training.
