Full-time, Exempt Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will provide dynamic leadership and oversight into opportunities for lay service opportunities and support the church staff in mission and ministry.
Essential Functions:
Develop and execute a communication strategy to consistently reach church members and the broader community of potential members. Build a lifecycle communication plan to impact people with effective communications after key moments in the journey with First UMC. For instance, after their first visit to worship or join as a member. Utilize the Realm Program to maintain attendance records. Manage and execute a calendar for the website, social media, email, and worship bulletin. Manage mass mailings and urgent communications through email, websites and social media. Design graphics as needed. Coordinate facilities usage requests. This would include communicating with ministry staff regarding room setup, payment, etc. Coordinate weddings, funerals, and special event logistics. Maintain digitalized and/or hard copies of approved minutes of church committees and boards. Tracks approve time off requests as provided by Associate Pastor of Administration Tracks subscriptions to vendors, periodicals, etc. Prepare and print worship bulletins Maintain a log of key fobs and keys

Set objectives and goals. Make adjustments as necessary. Evaluates results. Dealing with problems quickly and directly. Relates well to a diverse range of people both inside and outside the congregation. Builds appropriate rapport and effective relationships. Is widely trusted and keeps confidence.
Key Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, Canva, MailChimp, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat. Teachable/coachable.
Position Expectations:
Encourage active participation in church life. Availability to open or close facilities as needed. Be familiar with, or learn about the United Methodist Church and its ethos.
Pay:
$44,000.00 per year
