Job Description
We are seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused administrative team member to support the check-in desk in a busy oral surgery practice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming first impression, keeping daily front office operations running smoothly, and providing excellent service to patients and the clinical team. Position Overview The check-in desk is the first point of contact for patients arriving for care. In this role, you will help ensure a smooth and efficient arrival experience by greeting patients, verifying information, coordinating essential paperwork, and supporting front office operations. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a calm, courteous approach are key to success. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner Manage patient check-in and confirm demographic, insurance, and appointment information Collect and process required forms, signatures, and documentation Assist patients with questions about arrival procedures and office expectations Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support patient flow Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed Verify insurance details and assist with obtaining necessary information prior to treatment Handle phones, messages, and general front desk inquiries when needed Support scheduling-related tasks and appointment reminders as directed Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment Qualifications Previous experience in a dental, medical, or specialty healthcare front office role preferred Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working with electronic practice management systems and basic office software Professional demeanor, reliability, and a patient-centered mindset Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred Skills Experience with insurance verification or patient registration Knowledge of dental terminology or oral surgery office workflows Familiarity with electronic health records or practice management platforms Ability to remain composed and helpful during high-volume periods What We Offer A supportive and professional team environment Opportunity to contribute to an important part of the patient experience Hands-on experience in a specialty healthcare setting Training and development opportunities for the right candidate Equal Opportunity We are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace.
