Job Description
- Managing and overseeing the shipping office operations and large accounts
- Ship with FedEx, UPS, DHL, LTL (ODFL, ABF, XPO, etc.)
- Fill out Bill of Ladings and organize LTL trucking pickups
- Learn and perfect the details of shipping Large Account and reduce chargebacks
- Dispute chargebacks received with organized formal letters and documentation
- Train and coach team members and new hires
- Shop for competitive rate quotes for trucking
- Shop for competitive quotes with respect to warehouse procurement
- Work with Warehouse Manager to coordinate production and inventory stock
- Research standard protocol in order to implement and manage special projects within the warehouse
- Assist in Sales Functions such as tradeshows and working with sales representatives.
- Understand basic functionality of the accounting software and how we organize our information.
- Create spreadsheets to make reports and organize your work.
- Communicate effectively with both our warehouses over the phone and email.
- Brainstorm with our team ways to improve how our business performs by highlighting areas for improvement and gaps in service.
- Track inventory and update figures in our software.
- Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to understand both business and customer goals.
- Answer phones and emails professionally while dealing directly with customers.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication.
- High level of confidence and confidentiality regarding employee information and sensitive issues.
- Handling HR paperwork and being a liaison between the warehouse and the main office.
- On boarding new employees with paperwork and getting set up in our system. The ideal candidate is focused and has a demonstrated work ethic that includes:
- At least five year of experience or equivalent training.
- Ability to meet goals in an environment with freedom of direction: a self-starter.
- Previous warehouse and computer experience is a must.
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows and MS Office software.
- Proficiency in MS Excel is instrumental to this job.
- A strong understanding of business fundamentals.
