Job Description

Administrative Assistant Administrative AssistantJoin Our Team! The Borough is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily operations in a fast-paced local government environment. This position serves as a key point of contact for residents, staff, elected officials, and outside agencies while providing administrative support across multiple municipal functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting residents and visitors in person, by phone, and through email correspondence. Prepare, process, and maintain records, reports, permits, agendas, minutes, and other municipal documents. Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating events, and maintaining calendars. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and public inquiries. Support various municipal departments with clerical and administrative tasks. Maintain accurate filing systems and records in both electronic and paper formats. Assist with data entry, accounts receivable/payable functions, and other administrative duties as assigned. Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related education preferred. Minimum of two years of administrative office experience, preferably in municipal government or a public service setting. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
