OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB
To facilitate the process of filing a Petition from Abuse and/or PFSVI, attend the ex-parte proceeding and assist in the execution of the order. In addition, process and maintain all Mental Health cases provided by the Mental Health Hearing Officer(s) and coordinate appeals in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Associate degree in social services preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
3 years working experience in office environment, county government. Or, any acceptable combination of equivalent training and/or experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB
1. Facilitates the process of filing a PFA and/or PSFVI by assisting the public with the procedures in a professional and timely manner. 2. Acts as a direct contact for the State Police for
PFA/PFSVI
cases. 3. Accurately inputs data into the governmental system PFAD. 4. Coordinates with the County Mental Health Hearing Officers to input and maintain Mental Health Cases. 5. Maintains recorded transcripts of Mental Health proceedings. 6. Processes and tracks Mental Health Appeal cases and coordinates with Court IT to provide the Judge a recording of the proceedings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Must be able to speak and understand the English language and to follow oral and written instructions. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. 2. Must possess ability to function independently, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with public, co-workers and others. 3. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to County information and records. 4. Must possess the technical knowledge of operating computers, computer software, programs, scanners, copiers, printers, and other office equipment. 5. Must possess knowledge of office practices and procedures. 6. Must possess ability to perform simple math calculations with accuracy and reasonable speed, and to perform simple banking duties. 7. Must possess ability to learn county department and legal rules, procedures and practices as necessary within department. 8. Must possess ability to be able to handle a variety of clerical duties and switch from one to another throughout the workday. 9. Must be able to complete an annual test to be a certified acceptance agent for the US Department of State as a passport agent.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Works indoors in adequate office space, lighting, temperatures and ventilation. 2. Works with average indoor office exposure to noise and stress, but subject to frequent disruptions. 3. Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be able to sit for long periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of reaching, standing, walking, bending, twisting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and stooping as necessary to carry out job duties. 2. Requires coordinated dexterity requirements that range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands, feet/legs, and torso necessary to carry out job duties. 3. Sedentary work, with occasional lifting/carrying of objects with a maximum weight of thirty-five pounds. 4. Must demonstrate emotional stability. 5. Must be able to cope with the physical and mental stress of the position. 6. Must be able to pay close attention to details and concentrate on work.
