High School Building Principal Position Summary:
Promote activities that directly involve students and provide a forum through which student concerns and interest can be heard; to teach the principles of democracy through meetings, elections, and programs and to provide opportunity for students to develop and use leadership skills
Qualifications:
Education/Experience :

Possess professional oral and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Possess excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by patience and understanding Possess skills and knowledge of a certified teacher
Physical :
Ability to effectively operate office equipment including, but not limited to, telephone system, computer, fax machine, copier, and calculator Ability to sit continuously for a period of time, approximately two and one-half (2½) hours Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to communicate via telephone system and email system
Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty/responsibility at acceptable standards. In accordance with both state and/or federal law, reasonable accommodations will be considered upon employee request.
Essential:
Implement beginning of school year meeting to determine the function of the organization, goals, purposes, projects, or services for the current school year Submit within thirty (30) days from the beginning of the activity a brief outline of the tentative events and activities being planned by the organization to the High School Building Principal Submit monthly reports stating what has been accomplished during the month by the organization such as goals, projects, service, and community, etc. to the High School Building Principal Submit within thirty (30) days summary of anticipated expenses to the High School Building Principal Conducts student council meetings and elections as necessary which includes election of student council officers and Block 1 representatives Maintains confidentiality of student information. Provide training for new class officers. Determines procedures for meetings to teach the principles of democracy and produces a set of rules to be followed at all meetings Control and maintain fundraising activities for high school council Control and maintain complete and accurate financial records Coordinate one dance per school year Schedule and chaperone high school student council dance Coordinate student guides for parent open house, graduation, etc. Promote a favorable image of the district
