Job Description

A. PURPOSE
The Administrative Assistant acts as a liaison between Church staff and members of the congregation and the community at large, and is responsible for the operations of the office.
B. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and highly organized.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with office software such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace as well as other relevant computer applications.
  • Comfortable with operating office equipment such as printers and postage machines.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
C. DUTIES OF THE POSITION 1.
Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional and courteous manner. 2. Create Sunday, funeral, and special bulletins. 3. Greet visitors and do small jobs for members and committees such as printing and creating flyers. 4. Update the church calendar, church directory, ACS system and the record books. 5. Coordinate the use of the building with outside entities such as Boy Scouts and garden clubs. 6. Assist the Clerk of Session with statistical and year end reports. 7. Order supplies for committees, music director and custodian, as needed. 8. Sort mail and send mailings for the staff and committees. 9. Acknowledge and record memorial gifts and donations. 10. Keep the office neat and orderly. 11. Prepare annual congregational meeting information. 12. Maintain attendance log for worship services and chancel flowers sign-up. 13. Maintain building key log. 14. Prepare and distribute the Piper on a regular basis. 15. Update church website, Facebook page and electronic sign, as directed. 16. Coordinate tasks with other staff members. 17. Utilize scheduling software to assign liturgists. 18. Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
