Job Summary:
The Part-Time Administrative Assistant is an employee who provides front-office support to all Lehigh Valley Zoo departments. The position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Operations, who is responsible for Guest Services, and indirectly to the Chief Operating Officer. This year-round part-time position will work in the front office. Every Saturday and Sunday is required and there is potential for additional hours as needed to help with our seasonal events.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all guest inquiries and business-related telephone calls and emails are being handled in a proficient, professional and polite manner. Ensure that all incoming emails, voicemail messages and faxes are distributed to the correct individual or department With guidance from the Director of Operations and training provided, handle on-site guest and staff relations. Function as the Zoo's emergency" base" contact and always remain aware of NOAA Weather radio status Keep the front office and entryway neat, clean and organized Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
SKILLS COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel Exceptional customer service Excellent communication skills Excellent time management with the ability to multitask Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships Works well independently and within a group setting Problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent 1 + years of office experience Knowledge of operating office equipment such as telephones, printers, etc. Must be able to work all weekends and holidays and special events, as needed. Flexible hours needed.

Physical Demands:
Performing the job duties of this position involves walking throughout the zoo grounds, standing for long periods, and other physical tasks, including sit; stand; use hands to fingers; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move/transport up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal. While performing these job duties, you will sometimes be required to work outside in all weather conditions throughout the day.
