THE POSITION

The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Department of Corrections at SCI Greene provides an opportunity to support a team that relies on clear and timely information. You will help manage records, assist visitors, and keep essential materials in order. Your work will strengthen daily operations and help staff stay organized. The agency welcomes detail-oriented individuals who take pride in dependable clerical work.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role centers on organizing information, assisting with daily office tasks, and supporting communication throughout the department. You will help maintain accurate records, manage inquiries, and support the operational needs of the office. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

Information Processing:

Record, prepare, and distribute information for the medical department

Reception Duties:

Answer calls, assist visitors, process mail, and respond to inquiries

File Maintenance:

Open, organize, and store electronic files according to policy

Inventory Support:

Monitor office supplies and maintain equipment as needed

Report Handling:

Create, print, and distribute requested reports and documents

Confidentiality Compliance:

Maintain privacy standards inside and outside the office

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework:

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
