Job Description

Franklin Central School is seeking an Administrative Assistant, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. This position oversees the efficient and effective operation of the front office, and is the public face of our school . Duties include, but are not limited to: Ensuring completion of larger and/or timely projects and needs.

Registrar functions (i.e. enrolling and exiting students.)Placing and receiving all orders for supplies, books and materials, and processing the associated paperwork via the established systems and procedures. Accurately processing a variety of forms (i.e. professional development, field trips, building use, hiring and terminations, school meals applications, etc.)Leading special projects (i.e. yearbook design, sixth grade celebration, online parent-teacher conference registration, etc.)Proactively ensuring that bulk supplies (i.e. copy paper, toner, postage) are maintained. Receiving and processing Workers Compensation Reports.

Producing the school newsletter.

Providing school-level accounting and financial support (i.e. collecting and depositing money from various sources, maintaining accurate records) within the districts procedures. Maintaining absolute confidentiality of all student and personnel matters.

Consistently providing friendly, supportive assistance to families and staff. Providing general administrative support to the principal, as assigned.

Supports a welcome, tidy and appealing atmosphere.

This is a year-round position that includes summer and school vacation work. Previous office experience preferred. Hourly rate ranges from $23.00-$27.00 an hour based on experience.
