The Underwriting Administrative Assistant reviews and distributes all incoming correspondence for an assigned underwriting team. This position is responsible for reviewing new business applications for accuracy and completeness, gathering and verifying information pertinent to the underwriting process, and recording this information in the Integrated Data Management System to support Company service standards. Essential Functions Processing all new business applications, recognizing all exposures, verifying completeness of the application, and contacting agents when appropriate to communicate underwriting requirements Verifying accuracy of information on policy applications by utilizing a variety of internet searches to check and cross reference information Performing all data entry relative to the initial application process; entering application into IDMS, setting suspenses for necessary follow-up, and assuring timely completion of any outstanding items to comply with company service standards Processing all incoming mail, faxes, email, and inspection reports Qualifications High school education with 2+ years of administrative training or experience Basic level proficiency in word processing, data entry, and spreadsheet application software Ability to prepare business correspondence with proper grammar and spelling usage Ability to respond to routine inquiries from agents, policyholders, or employees using proven verbal communication skills and customer service experience Rewards The ability to have a direct impact on the success of a small, but growing organization Opportunities to grow and advance through our Personal Professional Development Program Participation in a comprehensive health plan, Retirement Plan, flexible work schedule, remote work opportunities, and Profit Sharing Bonus program!
