JOB GOAL
To maintain accurate attendance records, to report problems to the principal, to file reports as requested, and to encourage students to attend school regularly.
SALARY RANGE
$14.88 - 23.80 HOURLY Performance Responsibilities Maintains a professional awareness of regulations regarding child welfare and attendance by having a working knowledge of state law, Board policy, and administrative regulations. Completes forms from the District Office. Keeps current and accurate records of attendance. Supervises and receives the collection pupil accounting data for submission to the District Office. Organizes and presents periodic enrollment, membership, and other attendance related reports. Confers regularly with principal regarding students who are frequently absent. Develops program to promote regular school attendance. Refers to the district attendance supervisor those cases of chronic absenteeism, tardiness and/or truancy as it relates to the District Attendance Policy. Investigates attendance problems reported by others. Contacts parents on third consecutive day a student is absent. Consults with students on tardiness and reminds parents of official school beginning time. Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS:
200 days. Salary and work year to be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
EVALUATION
The principal will evaluate performance of this job annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation. Sumter School District is an equal opportunity employer.
