Job Description

Be the First to Apply Job Description Job Summary This position is housed within the Rural and Community Programs division of the Quillen College of Medicine-a division dedicated to educating future physicians, particularly those interested in primary care in underserved and rural communities. The Temporary Clerical Worker will provide administrative and operational support to the division of Rural and Community Programs. This role supports faculty, program staff, and medical students by ensuring accurate documentation, smooth scheduling, and efficient communication across clinical and academic environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable handling confidential educational information, and able to support the unique needs of rural, training programs. This full-time role will work alongside the Administrative Staff and Faculty to assist the department in ancillary needs. Primary Job Responsibilities Administrative Support
  • Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, scanning, copying, and preparing educational materials for learners and faculty. Scheduling & Coordination
  • Assist with scheduling clinical rotations, preceptor assignments, simulation sessions, and academic activities; maintain calendars and distribute updates. Learner Support
  • Help track evaluations, preclinical and clerkship deliverables, student onboarding requirements, and student travel management. Accreditation & Reporting
  • Support the preparation of documentation for accreditation bodies (e.g., LCME) and grant reporting. Data Management
  • Maintain databases for learner records, community training sites, faculty development activities, and program outcomes. Communication
  • Respond to emails and phone inquiries from medical students, faculty, preceptors, and community partners; distribute announcements and program updates. Event Support
  • Assist with logistics for rural primary care track student and faculty events and community outreach activities. Procurement & Finance Support
  • Process reimbursements, track expenses, and assist with purchasing educational supplies or training materials. Other Duties as Assigned
  • Provide flexible support as program needs evolve.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of computers, with strong skills in word processing, databases, and spreadsheets. Competent in Microsoft Office suite to include MS Teams. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to manage time appropriately to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to be organized and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills allowing for building and maintaining of relationships with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community members. Ability to deal professionally and responsibly with privileged information. Ability to move/lift items in the office and to set up booths/tables for events up to 20 lbs. Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Required Qualifications Associate's degree plus two years of related work experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree with experience working with graduate or medical students at a professional school level Compensation & Benefits Salary
  • rate of pay is $18.
