Job Description

The Hot Check clerk will help with receiving payments from check writers, setting up files, setting up payment agreements and communicating with check writers.

Includes but is not limited to the following: Research information in the computer system to assure the correctness of data entered. Communicate with all Justice of the Peace offices. Communicate with the public both over the phone and in person. Receive hot checks by various merchants or organizations and enter information in computer. Receive payments from hot check writers and enter information into computer. Prepare paperwork associated with hot checks. Prepare and file hot check shucks. Other duties as may be assigned by the Hot Check Administrator. Knowledge of all Microsoft programs. Basic computer skills. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
