Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree preferred. 2.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational or Montessori setting. Skills & Abilities 1. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. 2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive). 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. 5. Familiarity with Montessori principles and philosophy (preferred but not required). 6. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children. Personal Qualities 1. A positive, friendly attitude with a focus on customer service. 2. Detail-oriented and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility. 3. Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic school environment. 4. Passion for supporting the schools mission to provide a nurturing and enriching Montessori education. Certifications CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment). Key Responsibilities School Closing & Safety (Primary Focus) Execute all daily school closing procedures, including securing the premises, checking all rooms, and setting alarms. Manage the final student check-out and dismissal process during the evening hours, ensuring accurate records and safe releases. Conduct a final check of the building to ensure all students have been safely picked up and all gates and doors are secured. Maintain open, direct communication with the Director regarding late pick-ups or closing issues. Administrative & Front Office Support Greet parents, students, and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor, especially during high-traffic afternoon hours. Answer and manage phone calls and emails promptly, providing information or directing inquiries to appropriate staff. Maintain and organize school records, including student files and staff documentation. Manage supply inventory and order necessary materials for classrooms and office use. Communication & Compliance Distribute newsletters, announcements, and other communications to parents and staff. Assist the Administration with preparing documentation for audits or accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with state and school policies. Occasionally assist with classroom needs or supervision during the late afternoon transition period, supporting the Montessori philosophy. Work as a liaison for reporting maintenance needs.
Background requirements:
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required for employment. (Due to the nature of the employer's business, company policy requires that candidates with criminal backgrounds will not be considered for employment.)
