Job Description
About the Role Skyline Electric is hiring an Operations Administrator to keep the administrative side of our Operations department running smoothly. You will be the go-to for the documentation, compliance, scheduling, recordkeeping, and reporting that keeps our business units and field teams moving. You will work alongside Operations and Business Units — keeping paperwork, systems, and follow-through in order across a fast-paced construction environment where priorities shift and details matter. What You Will Do Provide day-to-day administrative support to Operations leadership, business units, project teams, and other departments. Prepare, organize, maintain, and distribute operational paperwork, records, reports, forms, and other documentation. Support contractor, customer, and project compliance requirements — including maintaining documentation and updating third-party compliance platforms. Track deadlines, renewals, certifications, and other administrative compliance items so nothing falls through the cracks. Schedule meetings, training, project-related activities, appointments, and other operational needs. Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems. Perform accurate data entry across company systems, spreadsheets, databases, and tracking tools. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, correspondence, and other business documents. Communicate with employees, supervisors, project teams, customers, vendors, and outside organizations to obtain or provide required information and documentation. Support business units with onboarding, project startup, closeout, and other administrative processes. Help coordinate the administrative side of field operations and construction projects. Monitor outstanding items and follow up with the right people to make sure they get closed out. Support company programs, special projects, and operational initiatives as assigned. Provide backup administrative coverage for other team members and departments when needed. Identify opportunities to improve organization, efficiency, documentation, and administrative processes. What We Are Looking For High school diploma or equivalent (required). Proficiency with Microsoft Office — Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Comfort learning new software, systems, and processes. Solid computer and data-entry skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional communication skills — able to work effectively with employees at all levels. Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities. Dependable and reliable, with strong follow-through on assigned work. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive business information appropriately. Preferred Qualifications Previous administrative or office experience. Experience in construction, electrical contracting, operations, project administration, or a similar environment. Familiarity with construction documentation, compliance platforms, project management systems, or administrative tracking tools. Working experience with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets. Key Skills Strong organization and follow-through. Sharp attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team. Ability to prioritize in a changing, fast-paced environment. Professional written and verbal communication. Problem-solver — able to find answers when direction is not immediately available. Service-oriented approach to supporting operational teams. Ability to build effective relationships across departments and business units. Work Environment Primarily an office-based role in a professional environment. Regular interaction across the company — Operations leadership, field personnel, project teams, customers, vendors, and outside partners. Comfort working in a construction-focused organization where priorities can shift quickly and responsiveness matters.
