$20.00/hour Two weeks paid vacation One week sick leave Job Summary The Administrative Assistant-Communications manages day-to-day office responsibilities, including welcoming visitors, tending to clerical tasks such as answering the phone and responding to emails, and tending to the church calendar. The Administrative Assistant-Communications also oversees congregation communications and mailings. Responsibilities Provide a welcoming and hospitable presence for members and visitors to the congregation, both digitally and in person. Fulfill regular office and clerical tasks to facilitate clear communication among the staff and with the congregation, ordering necessary supplies for office management, and keeping public spaces and the workroom clean and organized. Produce publications including but not limited to newsletters, electronic communications, social media updates, Canva, Constant Contact mailings, and website updates. Maintain the congregation's official records, both in an electronic database and also in the official record book. These records include membership rolls, baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and funerals. Support and collaborate with pastors regarding pastoral visits, details of upcoming events, worship needs, and other ministry items. Recruit and support volunteer receptionists Other duties as may be assigned Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint as well as Google products, Canva and Affinity Able to develop proficiency with Automated Church Systems software. Able to use web-based resources Able to compose, edit and prepare letters, articles and other publicity pieces. Able to lift, carry and push 35 lbs. Helpful to have knowledge of Church seasons and liturgy. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
