Weigh Scale Clerk Position Summary The Weigh Scale Clerk is responsible for operating truck scales to accurately record the weight of incoming and outgoing loads. This position serves as the first point of contact for customers, drivers, and vendors, ensuring accurate documentation, efficient traffic flow, and compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate computerized truck scale systems to weigh inbound and outbound vehicles. Verify load information, materials, customer accounts, and shipping documentation. Issue scale tickets, receipts, invoices, and other required paperwork. Enter and maintain accurate data in computerized systems. Coordinate with dispatch, operations, production, and drivers regarding deliveries and pickups. Answer phones, greet customers, and provide professional customer service. Monitor vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and records. Process cash, credit card, and account transactions when applicable. Resolve routine discrepancies involving weights, tickets, or customer information. Perform general office duties including filing, copying, scanning, and email correspondence. Assist with inventory tracking and reporting as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous scale house, administrative, customer service, logistics, transportation, or manufacturing experience preferred. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, depending on facility operations. Work Environment Office and industrial work environment. Frequent interaction with truck drivers, customers, contractors, and operations personnel. May require weekends, overtime, holidays, or shift work based on business needs. Ways to
