August 17, 2026 Job Description The Construction Services Technician is essential in supporting the planning, coordination, and installation of electric and gas utilities. This position partners with the Customer Project Coordinator (CPC) to prepare job packets and material lists for new construction, maintenance, and the replacement of damaged facilities. Responsibilities also include administrative tasks such as invoice processing, credit card reconciliation, and timekeeping. The technician serves as a primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal crews, while maintaining accurate records and addressing construction-related issues. Working as part of a self-directed, collaborative team, this role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
Requirements Construction Services Technician I:
High School, GED or equivalent Associate's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university in business administration, project management, construction services, or related field or completion of a formal apprenticeship program in a field relevant to utility services or electrical work preferred. One (1) year of related office or construction experience. Effective and flexible communication skills. Basic computer skills and ability to learn computer applications. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Knowledge of company policies and procedures preferred. Experience in the construction field with basic knowledge of Avista's natural gas and electric infrastructure preferred. Experience with utility customer information and asset management systems preferred
Starting Range:
$25.28 to $32.35 per hour,
Non-Exempt Construction Services Technician II:
High School, GED, or equivalent Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university in business administration, project management, construction services, or related field or completion of a formal apprenticeship program in a field relevant to utility services or electrical work preferred. Three (3) years of experience in natural gas, electric distribution, utility or related field. Experience in the construction field with basic knowledge of Avista's natural gas and electric infrastructure preferred. Experience with utility customer information and asset management systems. Experience managing complex scheduling and compliance tasks. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Effective and flexible communication skills. Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships. Competent knowledge of the Construction Service Technician processes and ability to complete complex work assignments. Knowledge of company policies and procedures preferred. Knowledge of permitting and municipal coordination processes preferred. Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
Starting Range:
$28.77 to $36.98 per hour, Non-Exempt This position requires an in-person presence to support team and on-site responsibilities.
