Salary based on experience and education level per TCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or
GED 2. A
passing score on the WV Competency Test for Secretaries and Coordinator of Services. 3. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks during frequent interruptions. 4. Must be able to adapt to changing work schedule as situations require. 5. Absolute understanding of the need to keep the nature of the work confidential. 6. Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft products and other computer software such as WVEIS that may be required by the position. 8. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills such as transferring files, email multiple attachments, scanning documents to various computer programs, etc. 9. Demonstrated ability to complete tasks that require judgement and originality without constant supervision. 10. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. 11. Must have the capacity to organize and distribute tasks depending upon individual abilities and skills. 12. Ability to maintain positive public and employee relations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage Superintendent's Office 2. Maintain positive work habits; maintain positive job attitude and has other personal qualities essential to job success 3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, school community, and the general public 4. Serve as communications liaison for news media, advertising and events to support the mission of Taylor County Schools 5. Maintain regular attendance and comply with state laws and county policies and regulations 6. Prepare for and attend all Board of Education meetings 7. Develop board meeting agendas, maintain the minutes and board documents, and will distribute same to the board members and staff as necessary 8. Maintain hard copies of all county policies completing necessary timely changes and updates 9. Prepare accurate reports and business correspondence consistent with the duties of this position 10. Present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, and the general public 11. Multi-task; manage many responsibilities simultaneously 12. Greet visitors, answer phones, respond to inquiries, and accurately route messages 13. Excellent grammar and punctuation skills 14. Coordinate all student transfer requests 15. Schedule and process professional travel 16. Produce reports or process purchase orders using the county accounting system 17.
