POSITION SUMMARY
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent. A good knowledge of word processing, typing, filing, and operation of common office equipment. A knowledge of good telephone communications. The ability to greet and deal with public, students and school staff courteously and appropriately, both by phone and in person. An ability to handle confidential matters, set priorities, work well under pressure, with an attention to detail. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run office. Maintains such student and financial records as shall be assigned. Receives and routes incoming telephone calls and mail. Greets all visitors and students courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs item to proper person. Types a variety of material, such as letters, student records, reports, memos, etc., from rough drafts or corrected copy. Ensures the safety of students. Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships. Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district. Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment. Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings. Understands the legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values. Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
211 Days (183 Days; 8 paid holidays); 8 hours per day excluding lunch. Salary as provided by negotiated agreement. Work year to be established by the Board.
SALARY:
$22.13/HR.
