KEPPEL UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT BILINGUAL CLERK TYPIST I DEFINITION
Under supervision to perform a wide variety of clerical functions of average difficulty, including typing and other general office duties; speak to students and parents in English and Spanish as needed, and to do other related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES 1.
Performs a wide variety of clerical work, including typing, reviewing, proofreading, filing and the recording of data on records; 2. Compiles information and prepares reports and summaries, including District attendance and enrollment data; 3 Answers the telephone and assists the public and office visitors in English or Spanish as appropriate; 4. Maintains files and records; 5. Types from rough draft notes and prepares final copy of material which may involve the utilization of transcription equipment; 6. Operates a variety of standard office machines and equipment; 7. May compose simple or routine letters and memoranda independently; 8. Receives, sorts and distributes mail; 9. Makes appointments; 10. May receive and distribute books and other instructional materials or equipment; 11. May maintain permanent records of students including grades, test scores and a variety of other confidential information; 12. Processes transcripts for distribution; 13. Receives monies and prepares receipts for bank deposits; 14. May maintain simple financial or statistical records; 15. May maintain the office environment by preparing bulletin boards and displays; 16. May administer routine first aid as required and contact public service agencies or parents in the event of serious student illness or injury; 17. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience:
One year of paid experience performing varied general office or clerical work.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
