Safety Office Technician CWI Works Inc Ann Arbor, MI Job Details Full-time $19.21 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Qualifications Microsoft Outlook Spreadsheets Word embeddings Bachelor's degree Full Job Description CWI Works is recruiting a Safety Office Technician to work in the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program for individuals 55 years of age or older at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Role and Responsibilities The Safety Office Technician supports the NVFEL Safety Office by maintaining accurate records, managing inventories, and conducting routine inspections and reviews that help keep the campus safe and compliant. Maintain accurate chemical inventories in Vertere (or a similar system), update locations and quantities, reconcile inventory records with laboratories and shops, and organize and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records. Inspect hazardous waste satellite and central accumulation areas, as well as spill response kits and supplies. Conduct routine inspections using established checklists, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions as needed. Perform routine function checks, battery and status checks, and cleanliness and condition reviews of safety equipment. Track due dates and coordinate calibration and maintenance of industrial hygiene monitoring equipment. Maintain service logs and assist with scheduling vendors and preparing shipments. Assist with moving properly prepared waste to the Central Accumulation Area. Stage and label containers according to established procedures, maintain waste logs, assist with scheduling waste pickups with DLD (or a similar transporter), ensure waste profiles and documentation are current, and coordinate site access on pickup days. Collect, sort, and stage batteries for recycling and maintain pickup schedules and associated records. Assist with periodic reviews and updates of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (SHEM) procedures, programs, and plans. Enter data; update spreadsheets, dashboards, and websites; file and archive documents; assist with ordering supplies; coordinate meetings; and support audits and compliance reviews. Qualifications and Education Requirements Successful candidates must: Be 55 years of age or older. Be a United States citizen. Be able to pass a federal background investigation. Possess a bachelor's degree. Have experience in office, facilities, laboratory, environmental, or safety support activities. Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Hours and Compensation This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week at $39,956.80 annually ($19.21 per hour).
