GED Full Job Description Full-time Typist I, Elementary School Main Office Hours:

7.5 per day, 11-month appointment

Typical Duties:

Greeting and assisting students, parents, and visitors Typing letters, memos, reports, and other documents. Maintaining office files and records. Answering and directing phone calls. Performing data entry and other clerical tasks using a computer. Handling mail and other correspondence. Providing clerical support to the school's main office staff.

Job Qualifications Civil Service Requirements:

The position is a New York State Civil Service job. However, no civil service exam is required at this time. To be considered, you will need to meet the minimum qualifications, which include graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. Qualifications Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Some level of clerical experience is preferred. A background check and fingerprinting are required for all school district employees who have direct contact with students, as mandated by New York State law.
