The P/T Junior Office Assistant (Typist) performs a variety of student-facing tasks. The incumbent supports the operation of the Academic Counseling Center's reception desk; supports students who need to be triaged by assigning counselors; schedules appointments through Viking Success (Starfish platform), makes appropriate referrals as needed to support services, and communicates with current students who need to meet with an Academic Counselor. The incumbent will also use computer applications such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Outlook, and videoconferencing tools in performing work assignments. May perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must possess a high school or equivalency diploma. The candidate must have effective customer service and communication skills. The successful candidate must also be dependable and possess the ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a minimum of an Associate's degree or Microsoft Office Certification or course work in Microsoft Office applications is preferred. Experience working in an educational institution is also preferred.Additional Information:
HOURLY RATE OF PAY
The hourly rate is $17.25 per hour, at 28 hours per week. No benefits.WORK SCHEDULE
The work schedule is flexible, with some evenings required.POSITION EFFECTIVE
