Job Description

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for 9-1-1 Addressing Technician, Announcement #2608. This is a full-time position located in the Texarkana, Texas, 9-1-1 Department. The position is responsible for address issuance, revision, and correction.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
High school diploma or
GED. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
(KSA's)
Required Knowledge:
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures. Ability to operate general office equipment. Knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and grammar rules. Ability to perform file storage retention and retrieval of electronic/physical records.
Required Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows as well as Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams). Attention to detail as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Required Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with members of the public and elected/public officials, particularly through use of telephone and email. Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures. Prepare records, reports, and correspondence neatly and professionally. Ability to work in an office environment for extended periods of time.
Desirable Knowledge:
Knowledge of common mapping practices.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS Pro) desirable but not required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license subject to an approved motor vehicle report and reliable transportation with valid proof of insurance for travel within the ATCOG region. Having met the above detailed minimum qualifications, your application will be evaluated on: additional related education and experience in the areas listed above.
