This role serves as an important operational support function and requires strong attention to detail, organization, reliability, and a service-focused mindset. The Mail Clerk represents Nexsentio while working within the client environment and is expected to provide professional, responsive service while following all client and Nexsentio procedures.
Big Picture:
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries accurately and efficiently. Prepare and process outgoing mail and shipments according to established procedures. Maintain an organized, secure, and efficient mailroom environment. Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel. Follow all Nexsentio and client-specific procedures, safety requirements, and security protocols. Protect confidential and sensitive information encountered while performing assigned duties.
Day-to-Day:
Receive incoming mail, packages, courier deliveries, and other shipments. Sort and distribute mail and packages to the appropriate departments, employees, or designated delivery locations. Process outgoing mail and packages, including labeling, postage, packaging, and preparation for carrier pickup. Obtain signatures or delivery confirmation when required. Complete scheduled mail and package delivery routes throughout the assigned facility. Pick up outgoing mail and packages from designated locations. Handle priority, confidential, certified, or time-sensitive materials according to established procedures. Maintain appropriate mailroom supplies, shipping materials, labels, and forms. Provide courteous and professional assistance to employees, clients, vendors, and delivery personnel. Immediately report suspicious, damaged, leaking, unidentified, or potentially unsafe packages according to established procedures. Follow proper lifting, carrying, cart-use, material-handling, safety, security, and confidentiality practices.
Quali fi cations:
Previous experience in a mailroom, shipping/receiving, office services, warehouse, administrative support, or customer service environment preferred. Experience working with USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other shipping and courier services preferred. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to follow established procedures and complete recurring tasks consistently. Ability to prioritize time-sensitive deliveries and changing operational needs. Professional and service-oriented communication skills. Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to supervisors and client needs. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive materials. Basic computer skills and ability to learn mailroom, shipping, and package-tracking systems. Skills:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar business applications. Familiarity with shipping and tracking platforms preferred. Previous experience working in a professional office, corporate campus, or Class A commercial environment is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequent movement throughout the assigned facility. Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying mail and packages. Pushing and maneuvering mail or delivery carts. Regularly lifting and carrying packages weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally handling heavier items with appropriate assistance or equipment. Using computers, scanners, postage equipment, mobile devices, and other mailroom equipment.
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
