Job Description
3:30POSITION
OVERVIEW
This position Monitors the receiving, unloading, storage, fumigation, physical inventory, grading and record keeping associated with the handling and processing of bulk walnuts. Monitors and documents incoming and outgoing traffic and makes sure deliveries and vendors are sent to the proper areas. This position is based in Stockton, CA and reports to the Plant ManagerDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains communications with other plant functions to assure timely and efficient flow of materials.
- Monitors deliveries and vendors at the gate entrance, assure all record keeping is accurate.
- Communicates with all incoming and outgoing walnut trucks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Monitors receiving Ranch Pick Up (direct grower delivery) & Local/Shelling Stock & Processed loads. Monitors flow of trucks and storing walnuts when received.
- Make sure each load is weighed, calculated and logged properly by PD-9 #, FD-8 #, Variety, Dehydrator Name, Grower Name, Grower Account # and Weights etc.
- Maintains communications with Member Services for needed adjustments on Wet Loads, Incomplete PD-9s, and Grower Account Card etc. Communicates with Growers Inspection for precise and timely delivered samples and data processing to assure the correct paper work gets turned in to help timely payments.
- Communicated with the trucking company (Panella) regarding shuttle tractors, drivers, and other needed adjustments for a smooth receiving & unloading operations.
- Monitors the process of sampling incoming walnut loads (Locals & RPU) and their crack test in order to check quality as well as if bleachable for Inshell Sale.
- Performs record keeping functions as required using PC, and developing spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
- Must be a certified weigh master. Weighs inbound and outbound shipping trucks.
- Monitors truck unloading-assures proper unloading and Sample Procedure.
- Assures each load gets completely emptied on the designated pit before weighing out.
- Plans the usage of various storage bins to accommodate the different varieties by quantity of incoming crop.
- Monitors unloading of Butlers to grader. Plans butler fumigations to cooperate grader pull requirements.
- Monitors butler/polygon temperatures for abnormal conditions.
- Monitors fumigation, tube off production and record keeping.
- Monitors safe and efficient performance in each of the receiving, unloading, fumigation and grading processes.
- Weighs all bulk product trucks both for internal movement (Butler, Polygons, Cleaning Plant) and for by-product vendors and customers.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND SKILLS
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Windows programs (Word, Power Point, Excel)
- Results oriented with a high level of attention to detail

- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships across multiple departments, seasonal employees, Sr. Management, vendors and growers

- Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and use of office equipment
- Sufficient typing skills to complete 60 wpm accurately and the ability to take sufficient notes at a meeting to prepare an accurate record of events
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School or GED required
- BS/BA a plus
- 2-5 years of relative experience 3:30pm-12am 6 days a week.
