Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Mailroom Lead Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in managing the efficient processing, sorting, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. The ideal candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth communication flow within the organization and supporting warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment. Responsibilities Process and batch incoming mail orders for data entry Sort corporate mail, packages, customer returns, mail orders, and customer service correspondence Open, organize, and process orders, including Tele Check orders, credit cards, and customer payments Process and scan checks through Bank of America and OPEX systems Maintain mailroom logs, labels, reports, and tracking documentation Receive, log, and distribute incoming letters, certified mail, registered mail, and packages Operate and maintain postage equipment, automatic postage machines, letter inserters, and related mailroom equipment Prepare outgoing mail by addressing, labeling, stuffing envelopes, folding, tabbing, and processing postage Process Customer Service letters, refund checks, and departmental billing through postage systems Assist with security reports, monthly measurement reports, and daily volume reporting Supervise daily mailroom operations and support staff to ensure compliance with internal processing standards Deliver and distribute mail, inter-office envelopes, samples, HR documents, checks, and return-to-stock packages between locations Coordinate pickups and returns with the Distribution Center and Post Office Maintain records of cash received, past due balances, postage usage, and processed checks Place weekly supply orders and monitor inventory levels for envelopes and mailroom supplies Process FedEx shipments and maintain shipping and tracking records Contact vendors regarding equipment maintenance and coordinate with IT on machine-related issues Communicate with customers regarding missing payments, credit card information, shipping addresses, catalog requests, address updates, and account removals Participate in cross-training and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous mailroom, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or administrative experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills Excellent attention to detail Basic computer and calculator skills required Ability to work effectively in a team environment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required Must be able to read, write, and speak English Prior experience with e-commerce fulfillment processes is a plus Benefits/Perks!
