Job Description

Primarily responsible for sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail. Deliver mail to departments and picks up outgoing mail. Assemble materials from departments for daily mailings. Contacts include other mailroom personnel, and departmental assistants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Postmark, sorts, opens, collates, date stamps, records, picks-up, inserts, delivers, and seals incoming and outgoing mail. This may be performed manually, or by machine. Inventories, restocks and orders mailroom supplies. Logs and records all processed paperwork / mail daily and submits daily stats. Operates various mailroom equipment. Communicates with various departmental contacts depending on business need. Picks up and drops off mail using the company vehicle. General upkeep and maintenance of the mailroom and equipment. Maintains confidentiality of materials in process both in draft and in final form. Delivers mail through out the building and picks up outgoing mail from all departments. Verifies contents of deliveries for accuracy and/or damage. Maintains computerized spreadsheet of production logs. This description identifies the responsibilities typically associated with the performance of the job. The percentage of time in any responsibility may vary between positions. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
REQUIRED
High school diploma, GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
6 months of experience in mail processing/servicing OR Minimum 6 months equivalent experience which provides the necessary skills, Knowledge and abilities.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to be well organized and pay attention to detail. Ability to perform repetitive tasks. Ability to verify numbers. Ability to move or lift objects weighing 35 lbs. or more unassisted. Excellent communication skills. Basic knowledge of computers and ability to enter alpha/numeric data accurately. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and document security. Ability to manage time effectively. A valid driver's license.
ADDITIONAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES PREFERRED
6 months of experience in mail processing/servicing

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. The position requires the incumbent to move throughout the building regularly and/or to and from the post office. The position may require local travel and the incumbent must possess a valid driver's license with a record that meets corporate standards. All safety requirements must be followed carefully. This work may be considered physically demanding. Ability to move or lift heavy objects weighing up to 35 Lbs. Required to stand, bend, squat and kneel.
