Overview Join our dynamic logistics team as a Mail Handler, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our mail and parcel operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sorting, handling, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail with precision and care. Your proactive approach will ensure timely deliveries, secure handling of sensitive materials, and seamless communication across various transportation modes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organized logistics network, supporting both operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail, and parcels, using established procedures and equipment. Operate delivery vans, straight trucks, passenger vehicles, and other transport modes to ensure accurate delivery routes. Secure loads properly using load securement techniques to prevent damage during transit. Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts, documenting maintenance needs and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage warehouse logistics by organizing storage areas, tracking shipments, and coordinating with maritime crew communication protocols when applicable. Assist in route optimization to improve delivery efficiency while considering traffic conditions in logistics planning. Support vessel maintenance activities when involved in maritime operations or port activities, including ship steering systems operation if required. Collaborate with crew management teams to handle driver shortage issues and ensure continuous operation flow. Follow Port State Control regulations during port visits to maintain compliance with maritime safety standards. Perform minor mechanical vehicle repairs as needed to keep fleet operationally ready. Experience Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or mail handling roles with a strong understanding of freight rate negotiation strategies. Familiarity with vehicle types such as delivery vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, passenger vehicles, and vessels used in maritime operations. Knowledge of vehicle inspections, maintenance documentation, and basic mechanical repairs. Ability to operate ship steering systems and vessel maintenance equipment when necessary. Multilingual skills are a plus for effective postal crew communication across diverse teams. Experience managing warehouse logistics, route planning, and traffic conditions in logistics environments. Strong understanding of safety regulations, including Port State Control regulations and vessel maintenance protocols. Excellent organizational skills for load securement, cargo handling procedures, and documentation accuracy.
