Job Description

The Mail Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely handling of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and courier services. This role supports daily business operations by ensuring secure receipt, sorting, delivery, and dispatch of mail while maintaining confidentiality, compliance, and excellent internal customer service in a corporate office environment. Key Responsibilities Mail & Package Handling Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries to appropriate departments and individuals Prepare outgoing mail and packages, including metering, labeling, and coordinating with courier services Track express and registered mail to ensure accurate delivery and receipt confirmation Maintain organized mailrooms and storage areas Courier & Shipping Coordination Coordinate daily pickups and deliveries with postal services and courier vendors (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) Ensure shipping requests meet company guidelines, cost controls, and deadlines Assist employees with shipping inquiries, tracking, and special delivery requests Confidentiality & Compliance Handle confidential, legal, and sensitive documents in accordance with Maersk policies and security protocols Follow chain‑of‑custody requirements for restricted or confidential materials Support records retention, document destruction, and secure disposal processes as assigned Administrative & Office Support Maintain logs and records for incoming/outgoing mail and packages Monitor mailroom supplies and request replenishment as needed Support office services functions as required (e.g., deliveries between departments, basic administrative tasks) Assist with special projects, audits, or site initiatives related to mail and document handling Health, Safety & Housekeeping Maintain a clean, safe, and organized mailroom environment Follow safety procedures for lifting, handling packages, and operating mail equipment Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or process concerns to management Qualifications & Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience in mailroom, office services, or administrative support preferred Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and shipping systems Ability to lift and carry packages (typically up to 40 lbs) Preferred Experience in a corporate or professional office environment Familiarity with postage meters, courier platforms, and tracking systems Experience handling confidential or regulated documents Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time‑management skills Dependable, punctual, and service‑oriented Ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily deadlines Strong integrity and discretion when handling sensitive materials Positive, professional demeanor and team‑focused attitude Working Conditions Primarily based in mailroom and office areas Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting Standard business hours with occasional schedule flexibility during peak periods
Salary:
$55,000 - $65,000•
Benefits:
Full time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match • The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
