Job Description

Posting Details Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) General Services Bureau (GSB) provides mail-room services, facility management services and security guard services for five hundred plus (500+) NMDOT customers. As a valued new employee to NMDOT, you may be eligible to receive three (3) days of administrative leave upon your start date. This is applicable to external hires not within the State of New Mexico Government. Why does the job exist? Position will be part of the unit that is responsible for mail-room operations for the NMDOT General Office. How does it get done? The primary responsibilities of this position will include: A variety of administrative and clerical duties necessary to include sorting mail, using the postage/sorter machine, collecting and sending mail from staff. Picking up and dropping off mail from USPS for distribution. Daily usage of a state-owned vehicle. Who are the customers? All NMDOT Employees and visitors to the General Office Ideal Candidate All NMDOT Employees and visitors to the General Office Minimum Qualification No prior experience or training required. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is generally performed in an office environment and will be regularly required to sit, stand. Required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
