Job Summary This role focuses on getting inbound freight sorted and staged before it moves further into the building. You'll break pallets down, read the destination code printed on each item, and route it to the bin or line it's meant for. The workload isn't spread evenly. A truck pulling in triggers a rush to clear the backlog before the next delivery lands, and that stretch tends to be the busiest part of the day. You'll also flag anything that looks damaged and pull it off the line rather than letting it continue on. During the calmer gaps between deliveries, you're topping off bin labels and clearing whatever's accumulated near the stations. There's a good amount of walking involved, along with lifting that comes up often but stays reasonable. At the close of each run, you'll log totals so the count lines up with what actually arrived. Sorting errors generally surface early, right at the scan step, which keeps small mistakes from becoming bigger ones further down the line. A team player attitude goes a long way here, since sorting lines run best when everyone's pulling their weight. You're consistent about showing up on time, which counts for more when the crew's already short-handed. When a scanner glitches or a bin fills faster than expected, you deal with it rather than waiting for someone else. Your section tends to stay in decent shape, since you sort things back into place as the shift moves along. A positive attitude helps you get through the slower, more repetitive stretches without much trouble.

Pay:

$24.25 - $29.20 per hour
