PURPOSE AND SCOPE
- The Mail Services Tech is responsible for the efficient and timely collection, sorting, delivery, and processing of mail and packages for the college and provides operational support to the Property Services team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- + Knowledge of mailroom operations, procedures, and relevant postal regulations (ex.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- + Must be capable of performing labor-intensive work such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items, such as boxes + Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs. consistently and potentially up to 75 lbs. occasionally), stand, walk, and drive for extended periods
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
- + Work in various indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, and inclement weather + May regularly travel to different LSC locations + May be fully reassigned to other LSC locations if necessary + May need to work weekends and untraditional hours if necessary + This position is classified as an essential employee, which means the individual may be required to report to work during college closures or emergencies to support recovery and reopening efforts •
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- + High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience + Valid Texas Driver's License and clear driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- + Associate degree or higher + At least 5 years of related work experience + Certified Forklift Operator
- Salary
- Hiring salary range is $36,057 - $41,466 Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions.
