Shipper and Receiver Job Description This contract role focuses on supporting a high-volume distribution facility by accurately labeling products and assisting with shipping and receiving activities. You will spend most of your day opening cases, applying stickers to inner cartons, and repacking cases while working in a cold warehouse environment. This is a short-term opportunity with a defined project timeline and structured shift schedule. Responsibilities Open product cases and carefully apply stickers to the top of each inner carton according to project requirements. Repack cases securely after labeling to ensure products are ready for shipment or storage. Follow detailed instructions to complete a time-sensitive labeling project within defined deadlines. Work consistently on your feet throughout the shift while performing repetitive tasks safely and efficiently. Support general warehouse operations, including basic shipping and receiving tasks as needed. Assist with picking and handling products in the distribution facility while maintaining accuracy and organization. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while working in a cold environment. Maintain a steady work pace to meet daily volume targets and overall project goals. Commit to working the full duration of the contract with reliable attendance and punctuality. Participate fully in orientation and complete all assigned work during the first and subsequent days. Essential Skills Ability to stand on your feet for up to 12 hours per day. Willingness to work in an extremely cold warehouse environment, at temperatures around 40ºF and just above freezing. Reliability and commitment to complete the full contract period without absences. Capability to perform repetitive tasks such as opening cases, labeling cartons, and repacking cases throughout the shift. Basic ability to support warehouse, shipping, receiving, and picking activities. No prior warehouse or shipping and receiving experience required. Work Environment This is a short-term contract position lasting a minimum of 3 weeks and potentially up to 6 or 7 weeks, depending on project needs. You will work in an extremely cold warehouse, with temperatures around 40ºF and just above freezing, so you should dress warmly and in layers suitable for a cold environment. The initial days of the project involve long shifts of up to 12 hours, followed by a transition to a regular schedule. The anticipated first week schedule includes shifts such as 0700-1530 and 0500-1700, with some days running from 0700-1900 depending on volume. Orientation begins at 7:00 a.m. on the start date and requires you to work the entire day. After the initial intensive period, the regular schedule is 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The facility operates as a distribution center with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and picking activities, and you will work on your feet for most of the shift in a structured, process-driven environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lockhart, TX.
