Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Mailroom Assistant to join our team in Reston, Virginia. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of mail operations and office support. The role requires a hands-on approach and physical stamina to handle daily tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail promptly and accurately.
- Operate and maintain multifunction printers and other office equipment efficiently.
- Sort, organize, and file documents to ensure proper record-keeping.
- Handle heavy mailing tasks, including lifting and moving packages weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Maintain a clean and organized mailroom environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of mail and packages.
- Monitor mailroom supplies and request replenishments as needed.
- Assist with general office tasks to support daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during mail processing.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with staff and visitors. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in office support, filing, or mailroom operations.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods of time during work hours.
- Physical capability to lift and move packages weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with mail processing procedures and equipment.
- Proficiency in operating multifunction printers.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.
