Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. Your passion for animals and strong communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for both clients and their pets. Duties Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans. Process payments and handle medical collections with care and confidentiality. Provide information to pet owners regarding services, medications, and post-treatment care. Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide guidance on pet care or services offered. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area, waiting room, and exam rooms. Collaborate with veterinarians and technicians to ensure smooth clinic operations. Skills To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills: Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff. Experience in medical collection processes within a veterinary or healthcare setting is advantageous. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices to assist in urgent situations. Understanding of animal husbandry principles to provide accurate advice to pet owners. Basic laboratory skills for assisting with diagnostic tests when necessary.
