Director of Operations / Front Desk Manager About Parker Cornea Parker Cornea is a specialty ophthalmology practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in cornea, cataract, refractive surgery, and comprehensive eye care. Our team is committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience through professionalism, compassion, and excellence. Position Summary The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming environment while efficiently managing patient check-in and check-out processes, scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and supporting daily clinic operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient Experience Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and welcoming manner. Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls appropriately. Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, forms, and office procedures. Patient Registration & Scheduling Check patients in and out for appointments. Verify and update demographic and insurance information. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments. Obtain required patient forms and signatures. Administrative Support Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record system. Scan and upload documents into patient charts. Process incoming faxes and correspondence. Monitor and maintain front desk supplies and materials. Assist with daily clinic administrative tasks as assigned. Team Collaboration Communicate effectively with providers, technicians, and administrative staff. Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations. Support other office locations or departments as needed. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and demeanor. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Preferred Previous medical office, healthcare, or reception experience. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Knowledge of insurance verification and medical scheduling. Ophthalmology or optometry experience. Skills & Competencies Exceptional interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Professional telephone etiquette Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment.
