POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of your job position is to perform receptionist duties in an efficient manner in accordance with current federal, state and local standards and regulations that govern the facility and as directed by the Administrator. The Front Desk Receptionist will treat each resident with kindness, dignity and respect. They will communicate clearly, empathetically, and effectively when speaking to residents, family members, visitors, all staff and governmental agencies. They will work cooperatively with all departments and multidisciplinary teams. They will demonstrate patience, initiative and willingness to assist residents that may be difficult or in discomfort. They will relate all pertinent information concerning a resident's condition to a charge nurse as required. They will be committed to always doing the right thing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answering telephone, determining nature of call and transferring to appropriate person Maintaining a listing of critical residents who may not receive phone calls Greeting visitors and directing them to appropriate office and/or resident room Operating paging/telephone system as required Giving accurate information to residents, visitors, guests, etc. Offering beverages to visitors waiting for administrative personnel, as appropriate Monitoring presence and location of sale representatives or government personnel in the facility Issuing and collecting identification badges as guests sign in and out Reporting suspicious persons to a supervisor immediately Performing administrative duties (typing, filing, posting to accounts, etc.) Assisting other departments as needed. with administrative duties when requested Receiving, sorting and distributing mail Operating copier, scanner, office machines, etc. Ordering supplies only if directed and approved Maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information Following safety regulations and precautions at all times Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately Abiding with all facility policies and procedures Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. REQUIREMENTS
Education / Licensure High school diploma or GED required Medical terminology helpful Qualifications / Experience Minimum of 1 year of clerical and phone experience Should be able to type 45 words per minute with minimal errors Must be effective at using 10-key calculator Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Outlook and Word Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must be able to follow oral and written instructions Must possess a cheerful and collaborative personality Must possess the ability to minimize waste of office supplies and proper recycling Working Conditions May encounter frequent interruptions May be involved with residents, family and government agencies May be requested to work beyond scheduled working hours at times Physical Requirements Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day Must be able to stand, bend and reach throughout the day Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time working on a computer Repetitive hand motion Must follow ergonomic policies and procedure governing lifting techniques and performing repetitive tasks Ability to read fine print
