As the first point of contact for our patients, this individual will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional patient experience while ensuring efficient front office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced medical environment. Prior experience in ophthalmology or a medical office is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with strong customer service and administrative skills. Responsibilities Greet and check in/check out patients in a professional and welcoming manner Answer and manage multi-line phone systems efficiently and direct calls appropriately Schedule appointments and coordinate provider calendars accurately Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient visits Collect copays, balances, deductibles, and other patient payments accurately Review patient demographics and update insurance and medical information as needed Scan, file, and maintain organized patient records and documentation Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person with professionalism and excellent customer service Assist with referrals, authorizations, and general front office administrative duties Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient reception area Support daily office workflow to ensure smooth clinic operations and patient flow Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office, ophthalmology, optometry, or retina practice preferred Strong understanding of insurance verification, eligibility checks, and patient payment collection Excellent customer service, communication, and phone etiquette skills Ability to multitask and remain organized in a high-volume clinical environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and electronic medical record systems Experience with multi-line phone systems and appointment scheduling platforms Strong attention to detail with data entry, record maintenance, and patient documentation Bilingual abilities are highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and prior authorization processes is a plus Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude required Join our team at Retina Specialists of Beverly Hills and become part of a patient-focused retina specialty practice dedicated to providing exceptional care and service.
