Position Overview:
Paws For Life K9 Rescue is seeking a bilingual Spanish-speaking individual to join our adoptions team as one of the welcoming faces of our center. The ideal candidate is compassionate, knowledgeable about dogs, highly organized, customer focused, and a critical thinker. In this role, you'll be the connection between our rescued dogs and the families ready to love them — matching pets to people, supporting foster placements, and making every interaction with the public a warm and informed one.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Reception:
Greet all visitors warmly, answer phone calls, and respond to general inquiries via phone and email in a timely manner.
Adoption Support:
Conduct meet-and-greet sessions to match adoptable dogs with prospective adopters, evaluating compatibility and lifestyle fit. Be a guide through the adoption process, assist with reviewing adoption applications while working closely with the adoption team and Founder/CEO. Collaborate with the adoptions team to highlight each dog's personality, history, and needs to potential adopters. Work with the adoption team to ensure each dog has updated photos on their profile in the database.
Foster Support:
Support foster placements by communicating expectations, answering questions, and ensuring a smooth transition.
Donation Processing:
Accept, log, and issue receipts for monetary and in-kind donations.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate adoption and foster records, schedule meet-and-greet appointments, and process fees for adoption. Stay current on dogs on-site and in foster and follow-up with various applicants when needed.
Lobby Management:
Ensure the reception area, lobby, and waiting spaces are kept neat and clean.
Required Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish fluency is
REQUIRED
to ensure we can serve our full community. Dog Handling experience is
REQUIRED
. High school diploma required . Minimum 1-2 years of customer service, reception, or administrative experience (preferably in animal welfare or veterinary settings). Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced, sometimes emotionally charged environment. Computer literate; must be familiar with Google/Microsoft products, spreadsheets, and animal databases. A genuine passion for animal welfare and rescue. Ability to effectively resolve conflict and think critically. Be an active part of a cohesive care team that interacts professionally with all members of the organization. Strong communication with PFL team members and Founder/CEO.
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds on a regular basis. Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently. Must be able to walk big dogs that pull and jump. Must be able to stand on your feet for multiple hours throughout the day.
Pay:
$20.00 per hour
