In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing medical billing and administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and timely billing processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and possesses a strong understanding of medical office procedures and billing systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered environment while honing your skills in medical administration and coding. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression through excellent phone etiquette and professional demeanor Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and explain billing procedures to patients clearly Collect patient information accurately during intake, including medical history and insurance details Manage multi-line phone systems efficiently, directing calls appropriately and handling inquiries promptly Review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding standards (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9) Process medical billing claims using medical coding expertise, including ICD coding and CPT coding for procedures and diagnoses Utilize billing software such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix to submit claims and follow up on unpaid or denied claims Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper filing of documents in electronic health information systems like EMR systems or Eaglesoft Perform office management duties including filing, data entry, appointment reminders, and handling patient payments Assist with care plan documentation review and update patient records as needed to ensure accuracy Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting with front desk or administrative support roles Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing processes Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Eaglesoft Experience with insurance verification procedures including Medicare and private insurers Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing preferred) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude Join our team to make a meaningful difference by providing outstanding administrative support while ensuring smooth billing operations.
