Elk Meadow Cabins is looking for an Front Desk Associate to join our team!
Elk Meadow Cabins Front Desk Associate Job Summary:
Elk Meadow Cabins is a vacation rental business in Orick, CA. Our rentals consists of two properties containing 52 acres of land, 15 vacation rental units, a gift shop and a tour company. Located in the middle of Redwood National and State Parks in a rural location, the Office Assistant is responsible for providing top-notch customer service, answering phones during regular business hours, making reservations and operating the gift shop. We have a small team and are looking for an applicant that is willing and excited to take on and contribute to our wonderful business. We are looking for someone who cares about creating the best experience we can for our guests and their families. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Five Star customer service to guests. Make reservations for new, drop-in guests. Make tour reservations. Addressing guest issues. When guest issues are more involved, determining when to call Maintenance and Management staff. Strong communication with ownership, management and other staff/contractors working on-site. Must be able to commute to Orick. Must be available for work 9-5:30 Saturday/Sunday. Additional hours will likely be available.
Daily Routines Include:
Collaborate hand-offs with the night-time and other staff. Open gift shop. Respond to guests via email, text and/or phone call. Help launch tours. Coordinate with guides should a new tour book. Make guests feel welcome, assist with simple requests, inform them about the area. Ensure guests conduct themselves safely around the wildlife (especially Elk) that frequent the cabins. Clean up common areas (restroom, break room, resort grounds). Light maintenance, or if urgent, contact Maintenance staff. Light housekeeping, a one-hour clean will likely be assigned per shift. This is not an all inclusive list. Ideal Candidate would also have the below: Experience working in Hospitality. Must be able to read and write English. Maintenance experience a plus. Housekeeping experience a plus. Detail oriented, clean and organized. Enjoy spending time outside near wildlife and the old growth redwood forest. Independent, yet know when to request help and how to push back on unreasonable guest requests. Reliable and able to follow a consistent schedule.
Physical Requirements:
Can lift at least 50 lbs. Can crawl, bend over and kneel. Can stand, walk or sit for up to an hour. Can work in varying weather, environments, indoors and outdoors: Temperatures are largely moderate but during the winter it will get wet.
Other:
This work can be very dynamic with lots of last-minute changes in job requirements due to situations arising in rentals. The ideal applicant must remain flexible and willing to change tasks and help out where it is needed. If you are interested, please provide a resume when you apply!
