Job Overview Join our dynamic mental health clinic as a Receptionist, where your energetic and compassionate approach will set the tone for a welcoming environment. In this vital front-line role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and visitors, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient service. Your proactive communication skills and attention to detail will help coordinate appointments, manage medical records, and support clinical staff with administrative excellence. Duties Excellent customer service Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and claims processing Collect and process payments, including medical collections, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and billing procedures Maintain and organize medical records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Manage office supplies, file documents systematically, and support clinic management with clerical tasks like data entry and appointment reminders Skills Customer service skills Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare reception roles within a clinic setting Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare billing processes Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with health information management software Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service with experience handling multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior experience in front desk operations or medical scheduling within a mental health or dental clinic is preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality adhering to HIPAA standards while managing sensitive patient information Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate administrative support that empowers patients on their journey toward mental wellness.
