We're looking for a Veterinary Receptionist who understands that their role is far more than answering phones and scheduling appointments. You are the first impression, the relationship builder, the problem solver, and often the reason clients choose to trust us with their pets. This position is ideal for an experienced veterinary receptionist who thrives working independently, takes ownership of results, and genuinely enjoys helping people and pets. What You'll Do As the primary receptionist, you will play a critical role in the success of the hospital by: Creating a warm, welcoming experience for every client and patient Managing incoming calls, emails, and appointment requests Scheduling appointments strategically to help maximize doctor productivity and patient care Identifying opportunities to fill openings in the schedule Educating clients about services, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations Checking clients in and out efficiently and accurately Managing medical records and client communications through Avimark Processing payments and discussing estimates Coordinating with technicians and veterinarians to ensure smooth patient flow Handling difficult situations professionally and compassionately Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional reception area Who We're Looking For We're seeking someone who: Has 2-3+ years of veterinary receptionist experience Has experience using Avimark (preferred) Is highly organized and detail-oriented Can confidently manage a front desk independently Has excellent phone and communication skills Is naturally positive, upbeat, and solution-focused Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do Enjoys working toward goals and helping grow the practice Understands the importance of schedule management and client retention Thrives in a fast-paced environment without becoming overwhelmed Values teamwork, accountability, and professionalism What Success Looks Like The right candidate will: Build strong relationships with clients and patients Help maintain a full, productive schedule Create an exceptional client experience that drives referrals and positive reviews Communicate effectively with both clients and the medical team Take ownership of the front desk and continually look for ways to improve systems and service Compensation & Benefits $20-$24 per hour, depending on experience Full-time position 4-day work week Employee pet care discounts Continuing education opportunities Supportive leadership team Opportunities for growth as our hospital continues to expand Why Join Colony Veterinary Hospital?
